SLUMS hosted Spring Fest 2020 for LUMS Community

Sports at LUMS in collaboration with Office of Sports, Wellness and Recreation hosted LUMS Spring Fest’20 from February 14th-16th, 2020. It was an Intra-LUMS event open to the entire student body, alumni and the faculty. The event provided a platform for the participants to not only showcase their talents but to compete and battle out their physical prowess. With most of the sports focusing on team efforts, it also enabled them to work on sportsmanship.

There were a total of thirteen sports: badminton, basketball, cricket, dodgeball, futsal, squash, table tennis, tennis, netball, marathon, volleyball, swimming, and hockey. All the events saw zealous participation. A total of 821 athletes participated in the event registering through 351 teams.

The Winners and Runner-ups of all the events were presented souvenirs at the closing ceremony honored by the Executive Council members of Sports at LUMS on 10th February. Final standing of the teams/athletes in the tournament is mentioned below:

SLUMS hosted Islamabad United for an interactive session with LUMS Community

Sports at LUMS hosted Islamabad United’s meet and greet session with the LUMS community on 30th January 2020. It provided an opportunity for luminite fans of Islamabad United to interact with the squad and share the firsthand experience of the background realities of PSL.

The session kicked off at 7 Pm when the star-studded squad of Islamabad United with the likes of Misbah ul Haq, Hussain Talat, Zafar Gohar, and Faheem Ashraf accompanied by their CEO Ali Naqvi showed up at NIB Auditorium. A welcome note followed by some amazing facts of the cricketers, Misbah ul Haq and Mr. Ali Naqvi talked about how youngsters can play a major role in the future development of the Country. Their inspirational words for being passionate towards sports made it a wholesome experience. This was followed by quick Rapid-fire questions from the audience where people asked players about their overall experience and rituals. Lastly, Keeping the tradition alive, players competed with SLUMS representatives on pushup challenge before concluding the session with a photoshoot of Islamabad United squad with the LUMS Cricket Team.
