SLUMS hosted Summer School 2019 Sports Gala

Event heads: Subhan Sohail & Ume Kulsoom

The event kicked off at around 12 in the noon. The participants were quite shy as it was apparent from their hesitation to take part in the event, but we had already anticipated that and groups were made to overcome that. The idea of teams assisted a lot since the children saw it easy to interact with their members and indulge in a competitive yet fun event. The sports originally included in the MoU were Tug of War, Dodge the Ball and Futsal, however, Badminton, Basketball, Table Tennis and essentially every other sport was played which was logistically feasible at that moment. The spontaneous element in the event was loved a lot by both the children and the LUMS admin, as it could be seen from the smiles and sweat of the participants. A lunch break was also given where the children were delighted to watch the final of the Cricket World Cup at Jammin. The day was wrapped with multiple Tug of War matches between boys and girls, which was easily the most fun part of the cheerful event.
